I can't believe it has been so long since I've posted. Although, I guess posting about summer vacation in November was a sign of busy times... It truly feels like the days move slowly, and the months (and even years) fly by. We went to visit my parents in Canyon Lake over Thanksgiving, and then stayed home for Christmas and New Year's. Of course we had our annual tree burning party on NYE. Then rented a bay house in Galveston for Spring Break.
Ryan is in his last year in Elem school at my school. He is not at all sad about moving up to a different school though, which is great. He's ready for 5th grade and all that it will bring. Changing classes, different teachers, and being with friends from both his former elem and this one are real perks for him. He's still taking piano lessons, and is playing baseball. He had his first piano play day, and actually enjoyed it. He also very much enjoys pitching in baseball.
Luke is moving right through 7th grade and has found a really nice group of friends that he spends a lot of time with on the weekends (much to Ryan's chagrin). He's definitely a teenager, and is having a blast going to movies, having sleepovers, driving around on the golf cart and dirt bikes with his friends. Ryan gets to join in on the fun when they all come to our house too. He's taking guitar lessons and playing soccer. He also ran cross country at school this year, which was a challenge for him, but he ended up enjoying it for the most part.
Jacob is happy and thriving in high school. After previous transitions, I wasn't sure what to expect on this one. Especially considering how wonderful 7th and 8th grade had gone, but it went beautifully. Not really any uptick in his anxiety at all, which is huge. They've taken him in, and he is comfortable and becoming more and more independent every day.
