Top 10 Reasons Mama can't get sick

Seriously, like I don't remember ever being this sick before. It's possible, but if so, it has been several years. I woke up Monday with a sore throat, no big deal. Although it was the boys' first day back after the holidays, so I was looking forward to getting stuff done around the house. I mean, as of today, Christmas has still not left the building. So as Mon goes on, I can't seem to get moving. In fact, I keep finding myself dozing on the couch. I finally concede defeat and call Brett, "I'm freakin sick". I pick up the boys and come straight back to my couch where I cannot seem to get warm. I called Brett home from work, which has happened maybe 4 times in our entire marriage, so he knew it wasn't good.
I spend the next 2 days having Brett and friends help with taking/picking up the boys so I can rest. I went to Carenow twice, tested positive for strep the first time, but went back the next day because I felt like my throat was closing up it was so swollen. She changed my antibiotic and gave me a steriod shot and an antibiotic shot and by Thurs I was back in the game for the most part. I stayed in bed until 1:00, but felt pretty good after that. Friday I washed sheets, cleaned rooms, Lysol'd stuff, feelin good.

Now, why Mama can't get sick. If she gets sick:
1. The house will look like a war zone. Food crumbs and Legos will cover the entire house.
2. Dishes and laundry will literally climb the walls.
3.The children's hair and teeth may or may not be clean every day.
4.The level at which your children fight will reach an all time high.
5.The rules of the house will be thrown out.
6.You will not care about #s 1-5.

7.A friend who hasn't called you in weeks, will call when you cannot physically talk, even though you desperately want to.
8.Another friend will send you 4 texts in a row, while you lay on one of those seriously uncomfortable 'beds" that have no cushion and are covered in paper, for over 2 hrs at the drs office. Oh, those texts will have been meant for a different friend.
9. You will have to try to communicate with the shool nurse and the pediatrician's office, while you feel like there's a baseball stuck in your throat, trying to get prescriptions for your child. They will have a hard time understanding you, even though this is something you have done every month for 3 yrs.
10. Your husband, well, he tries, bless his heart..... He will try to feed you, constantly, because that's what his mom taught him. He will drive you to your appts, all the while making work calls and talking about all the work he's not getting done. He will play games on his phone and sigh every so often while looking at the time, while you lay on the "bed" mentioned in #8. He will call his mom to help, she won't be able to, even though she's usually a permanent fixture in your house when you don't want her there. He will want you to communicate with him, whether it hurts to talk or not. And my favorite, he will use the hand sanitizer in the dr's office as if he has OCD, every time he touches you, your phone, your purse, or anything that has come in contact with you in the last few hours.

Oh so happy to be well again, and walking amongst the living. Time to get my coffee and rally the troops. Christmas has got to be packed away. The inflatable Snoopy on his doghouse has been laying on his side for days, and the living room is still a mess from opening boxes. The tree is almost flat. I don't know how those decorations are still hanging on. Seriously, they should have all slid to the ground and shattered by now...
