So I've taken Jacob off of meds for now, until I can figure out what he needs, if anything. He is still doing the "urine" thing, but we all just kind of go along with it. I am buying hand soap and antibac lotion all the time and I talk to him about stopping the behavior, but he's not interested, lol. Yesterday he handed the babysitter the lotion and when she put it on her own hands instead of his, he looked at her like she was crazy. She hadn't been around for a few weeks, so she didn't realize his intentions.
Not much has changed at school since the ARD, he is still stressed and his academics are slacking. I met with SS last week, trying to build that relationship, and I think I did somewhat, but that girl is just trying to get through her first year of teaching. Jacob is slipping through the cracks, and she just doesn't have the ability to deal with his needs. So I have decided to keep track of what he needs to do for her class, by checking in with her, and we can do it at home. I found out that there are 32 students in that class... no wonder he is intimidated. His Science teacher seems to just being dealing with his needs, she is a veteran teacher, and that is working fine. His Math teacher emailed me yesterday, and she thinks the work is getting to hard for him. I asked him and he agreed. I told her this am in an email to just do what she can with him, and I'm ok with that. Again, his happiness and stress level are my #1 priorities, if he's a mess, nothing else matters. She's pretty awesome, and he really likes her, so we should be fine there.
There are times where I wonder if private school is the way to go with him. With smaller quieter classes, well, an all around smaller quieter atmosphere, might be the best route. It's just so damn expensive, we'd have to sell this house and move. Not that I'm totally opposed to that, I would just hate to uproot everyone and go through the stress and chaos of a move, and then Jacob still have difficulty with school. I've thought about trying private school for a short time, and seeing if that helps with some of his issues first, but we'll see. I'm not totally throwing the idea away.
So all Luke wants to do is play "Minecraft" on his computer. He has started Facetiming with his friend and they all play. Ryan sits at my computer and joins in the fun. They will literally do this for hours, if I let them. Working on finding other interests for him, like guitar or even piano. I know the big thing right now in parenting is limiting "screen time", and I do that to an extent, but I just honestly don't have an issue with him playing Minecraft. It's not violent, he is building stuff, and they have a freakin blast. We, as a family, are pretty active. We do all sorts of stuff to get out of the house and keep busy, so I'm not worried about Luke's health at this point. He LOVES to snow ski, but obviously he can't do that all the time. As he gets older, his interests will change, and he will find other things he likes to do. He has found his love of reading finally, so I'm really happy with that. He's a great kid, an awesome brother, and a good student; all is well. He doesn't want to play baseball this season, and I'm ok with that too. Like I said, his interests will change.
Ryan has been playing indoor soccer with his Academy team over the winter, there's a whole other world I never knew about. If I thought sitting outside listening to parents yell directions at their kids was bad, sitting inside listening to it is torture. Why the hell are parents so obnoxious? Seriously, I might start wearing ear plugs, lol. "Harrison" and "Fisher" can't hear a damn thing you are saying. And, how are they supposed to hear the freakin coach over your rediculousness?? Ugh. As Jacob would say, "Parents these days."
Eyore is doing ok, I had to give him a swift kick in the rearend last week, reminding him how amazing I am and how I should be treated, he needs that sometimes. In case you need clarifying, he has a wonderful life and there will be no more bitching about it, seriously. Maybe others out there need that same reminder? Well, my "talks" must work, because he really is on his best behavior... for at least a week..... In all seriousness, since his brother up and quit on him, he has been struggling to understand it. He hired a new guy, and that isn't working out, so it is frustrating. That being said, we only get one, fast paced, kids grow too fast life, and I fully intend to enjoy as much of it as possible.
So I got an A in my first grad school class last semester, yeah for me, and I started this semester last night. I have 2 classes, one on Tues and one on Thurs. I am wondering if taking 3 will be too much. I want to graduate as soon as I can, but I don't want to take on too much either. We'll see. Ok, I have to get to 1099s and W2s, and Jacob has a Dr appt this afternoon, so that's it for now. I really do need to blog more, I have so much more to say, lol.
